Questions this guide answers

Where should front of house go?

On the room's center line, about two-thirds of the way from the stage to the back wall, so the engineer hears what most of the audience hears. Place the FOH Table from the AV group and drag it: Smart Distances shows the gap to the stage while you drag.

How do I line the FOH table up with the stage?

Select the FOH table, then Shift-click the stage so the stage becomes the anchor, and press Align center in Properties. The desk moves onto the stage's center line and the stage stays put. Any object can be the anchor; the last one you Shift-click is the one that holds still.

How do I know how long the snake has to be?

Press M for Measure, then click the stage edge and the desk. The readout shows the straight run in feet and inches. The real snake follows the wall and climbs onto the stage, so add slack for the route and round up to the next stock length before you order it.
