Questions this guide answers
How do I resize a U-shape table?
A U-shape has no drag handles; it is sized by its parts. Select it and set Head Length for the top of the U, Side Length for the two arms and Table Depth for how wide each table is. The chairs re-space along every side to match the new size.
How much space does a U-shape need around it?
Leave about five feet between the chairs and the walls so servers can pass behind seated guests, and keep the open end of the U facing the screen or the speaker. Press P for Smart Distances while you drag to see the gap to each wall in feet.
How many guests fit at a U-shape?
It depends on the lengths: about one guest every two feet along the outside of the head and both arms. A fourteen-foot head with two twenty-foot arms seats thirty. Seating inside the U as well fits more guests but blocks the view and the service lane.
